Bella’s Village Cottage Care was closed with assistance from Harris County Precinct 4 Constables for being an unlicensed medical boarding home. The investigation began after investigators said a man called 911 to report a medical emergency involving an elderly patient who later died from natural causes inside the home. The owner, Glenda Adams, was arrested and charged with operating a personal care facility without a license. Investigators revealed she had been running the assisted living facility illegally since 2018.
Signs posted on the door ordered the immediate closure of the facility. Authorities found a total of four patients inside, including the deceased man. The surviving patients were relocated to other medical facilities for evaluation.
